I am Brenda B. McMoore and a proud “Native Charlottean.” I earned my Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from University of Pheonix in 2016 as testament it is never too late to reach your goals. Over the past 40+ years I have held professional leadership positions with leading area businesses including Bank of America, Wells Fargo Bank, City of Charlotte, Northwest Corridor CDC, Prosperity Unlimited and currently AmerisourceBergen/Lash Group. Throughout these years, I have remained consistently involved with volunteer/community activities including currently Next Level Leadership Board of Directors, Focus On Leadership & Focus On Future Leaders past President & Board of Directors, Focus on Leadership Class II Alumni, Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation Commission, Chief Election Judge- Precinct 11, Black Women’s Political Caucus Member/Board of Directors, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Political Caucus, NCWorks Volunteer Facilitator, HUD Certified Housing Counselor, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Political Caucus Business Award (2008), WBT Hometown Hero Award (2004); worked on various political campaigns including Mayor Harvey Gantt, Congressman Mel Watt, Mayor Anthony Foxx, Councilmember James Mitchell, and Councilmember Ron Leeper. My guiding principle is “Leadership by Example.” Great leaders are honest about their strengths, weaknesses, and expectations. If you want to be an inspiring leader then you start off by being honest with yourself and others and creating a culture of transparency.
